Kommos (or Komos) is located just 2km north of Matala and close to the village of Pitsidia. It is actually the southernmost and the most isolated part of the long beachfront of Messara Bay. Kommos was once the port of Phaestus; you can still see the ruins of the old port of Kommos on the beach.
What to Bring on Board:
To make the most of your trip and stay safe and comfortable, consider bringing:
- Sun protection: Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
- Light snacks & water: Stay hydrated and avoid heavy meals before departure
- Beach towel: For drying off after a swim or relaxing on the deck
- Non-slip shoes: Flip-flops or water shoes if you plan to walk ashore
- Personal medication: Especially if you're allergic, diabetic, or prone to motion sickness

- Do not exit the 3–4 nautical mile coastal zone — open sea is off-limits.
- Always yield to boats with a diver’s flag or visible fishing gear.
- Wear your life jacket as instructed, especially when advised or if weather conditions change.
